The Firm

In the early 1980s, Roland H. Paule, Peter Eitzert, Harald Frey and Ekkehard Stein shared their mandatory period of internship at the Regional Court of Wiesbaden. They discovered that they all had the idea of becoming lawyers and joined forces by mutual agreement.

The firm was founded in 1986 by Roland and Peter. Harald and Ekkehard planned to work as associates of bigger firms before joining. Harald did so in 1987 and Ekkehard in 1992.

The firm started in a small office opposite the court. Defense in criminal law and preliminary injunctions were among the first cases, but then access to a major German insurance company opened the way to business law (by the way: this insurance company is still a client of ours).

Soon the number of secretaries and paralegals increased so that new premises had to be found. With this bigger office, the expansion of the firm could continue. The first associate lawyer was employed. Peter became a public notary and left the firm after the reunification of Germany to set up his own practice exclusively as public notary in East Germany.

By the late 1990s, the firm was well established. Excellent working relations with chartered accountants [GB; certified public accountants US], public notaries and the courts all confirm the firm's successful approach. Two of the firm's many interns become associates, with the prospect of becoming partners. More and more new candidates sought training at PAULE & PARTNER. The payroll continued to grow.

This was the time when the firm seriously considered merging with other firms to move from merely networking with others to create one entity offering accountants and notarial services from one source.

Finally, we decided to stay independent. However, two of our associates decided to leave and open up their own practices. We regretted their move, but accepted their wish, found an amicable solution, restructured the firm to meet the new challenges and moved to our current address.

Today, the three original partners are still working together. Once again, we have three associates, several paralegals and the firm is still attractive to the young interns at the Regional Court of Wiesbaden.

The firm continues its unbroken reputation as an effective, reliable and successful law firm, which is respected by the courts and other professionals and is recommended by its clients.
