The Lawyers

The German system does not have a Bar examination. Though a Bar exists, it is mainly an association of lawyers, i.e., a lobby where membership is not mandatory.

To become a lawyer in Germany, you must pass two state examinations and then apply for admittance to a regional court. Traditionally, only lawyers admitted to the relevant court were allowed to plead there. Though this limitation has been waived, the system of registration with the courts is maintained by law.

All lawyers at PAULE & PARTNER are admitted to the Regional Court of Wiesbaden and Harald Frey and Ekkehard Stein are also admitted to the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main.

In this way, our firm can represent clients in all courts.
